According to recent leaks, the Nexus 6 should feature a 5.9 inch Quad HD display – making it bigger than the iPhone 6 Plus’s “bigger than bigger” 5.5 inch Retina HD display. The Nexus 6 is also more pixel-dense than the 6 Plus, clocking in at 496 ppi over the iPhone’s 401.
Under the hood, the Nexus 6 has a quad-core Snapdragon 805 processor, with 3 GB RAM, tripling the 6 Plus’s 1 GB RAM, and it should come preloaded with the next version of Android – Android Lollipop, v 5.0. It’s worth noting that the 6 Plus runs fine, in spite of its smaller RAM, because of how well iOS 8 is optimized to run on the A8 1.4 GHz processor. Powered by a 3,200 mAh battery, the Nexus 6 should have a respectable battery life.
Verdict
In a side-by-side spec comparison, the Nexus 6 appears to dominate the 6 Plus. The truth is that Apple has done a great job of creating a total package – iOS + iPhone hardware – that runs seamlessly together, leading to greater efficiency in spite of its apparent shortcomings.
